IOS 18 Silent Mode Shortcut not working on iphone

I created a short cut for toggling the silent mode on/off but the action description for "Set/Toggle Silent mode" says its for the apple watch.

I don't have an apple watch and am trying to run it for placing my Iphone 14 in/off silent mode and it provides the following message: "this action cannot be run in the current environment."

Question: Can a silent mode toggle shortcut be created on IOS18 for the iphone (not apple watch)?

Did you ever figure it out? I’m having the same issue, the Shortcuts app won’t let me set Silent mode on my iPhone 15

I am speculating that this shortcut only works on iPhones that have an Action Button, and won’t work on iPhones with a mute switch.

Does anybody know why the action doesn’t work?

Have not yet found a way to create a shortcut for toggling the silent mode on/off on my iPhone with a mute switch. (My particular phone case and large fingers make it very difficult to access and flip that switch).

I’m beginning to think that your guess that this shortcut may only be possible on iPhones with an action button may be correct. 🤷‍♂️
