Apple Music issues after iOS 18 Update

Has anyone experienced issues with Apple Music in iOS 18? For example, audio quality lowered despite Dolby Atmos and EQ off? Or trying to scroll through your playlist and the app crashes?

Me. So thankful to find someone else with this issue. My Apple Music has been almost unusable since the upgrade to iOS 18. Crashes when scrolling a playlist, crashes when trying to remove songs from a playlist. Won’t let me edit larger playlist. Also freezes a lot, is super slow, and the audio quality has decreased. I have been on basically a 4 day phone call with a Apple Senior Adviser about this and they can’t figure it out, plus they say nobody else besides me has reported to them issues with Apple Music on iOS 18. Which is hard for me to believe. The tech is calling me back tomorrow with what his bosses said about the screen recordings i sent them showing my issues. I’ve done every troubleshooting step they can think of except reinstalling iOS 18. I hope they can figure it out cause it’s annoying me to no end not being able to use my music.

Honestly feels like over night this app has completely pooped the bed. What a sad state, this once amazing and revolutionary software is. I have a fast internet connection, my computer is not that old yet I see constant performance issues from Apple Music. They really need to fix it. When managing playlists, there's constantly issues with them. If I want to update a playlist info (name, organization) it mostly doesn't update, and I have to restart the app and try again. What a shame. Spotify certainly is looking like a good alternative again. Apple fix your s***

I can't click (either with fingers or apple pen) on any new search if the band/song I am looking for hasn't been searched in the past (tried with some random and known band I never listened to). I can accurately reproduce this and 9/10 times it's an issue (tired with some big band names that never listened to but this seems to work)

Feels like a cache/database problem

If I play music and then go use another app or close my phone for sometime, my music will eventually stop playing and the app will crash when I go back to it. So far the only way I’ve figured out how to avoid this bug is to periodically go back to the app. However because it doesn’t always happen after the same amount of time or songs (afaik) I sometimes forget or take too long. This happens with carplay, bluetooth headphones, and my bluetooth speaker.

Did I mention the password problem? I thought it was a one off that my phone had forgotten some (but not all) of my passwords, but today it had forgotten a couple I had had to remind it about previously which it had remembered for a week or so, but it has now forgotten again. I’m not always at home near my laptop, where I can find them on Chrome, it’s starting to get annoying now 🤬

This is a little late, but ever since the ios 18 update, my music libraries on my iphone and ipad pro have been totally screwed up. Almost every song was duplicated. If this wasn't bad enough, it removed a bunch of songs from the albums. However, the main library on the Mac M1 is fine.

I have resynced my iphone and ipad pro to my Mac and it has only made it worse. Now I have duplicate songs again and it has separated songs out of albums and made numerous albums that all of the songs for, should be under one album.

Keep in mind, I have about 1300 albums on my iMac. I have been trying to fix this for weeks. I do not subscribe to Apple Music, but I do have the Apple Music Sharing subscription or whatever it is that adds everything automatically to each device. No matter what settings I apply under Finder or in sync settings in itunes will remedy this.

The last thing that I want to do is delete my entire library on my Mac and reburn every CD individually. This isn't the first time this has happened. Some years ago under ios 14 or so the same thing happened.

Apple is turning into Win(blows).

Running 18.1 and it's been happening since 18. Glad it's not only me. Apple Music plays for a few seconds then stops. Repeatedly. Sometimes it'll play fine, but other times, it's useless. I notice that it also happens when I have my AirPod Pro 2 in. Not sure if it's happening anyway, but it's getting to be not much fun listening to ANYTHING because of the constant freezing and interruptions.
