Touch Bar Buttons Missing After macOS Sequoia Update

**UPDATE**

They have fixed the Touch Bar issue for the FaceTime. Now all the controls for FT are back on Sequoia 15.2 update.

Unfortunately the Touch Bar for calculator is still missing. Will try to raise a complaint for that.

Folks so update your laptops to 15.2 to get those FT controls back.

popped in to Apple Store Milton Keynes today 2nd November, you have to take machine to an Apple Store to have hard drive wiped, then OS and software to be reloaded.

Apple will not trade-in M1 Pro as mahine is faulty due to Touch Bar not working.

Well, I figured out, the TouchBarServer app lived in /usr/libexec/ folder (at least earlier). And now there is no such application. Sequoia 15.2, macbook pro 2019, intel. Did they just forget to put it in the patch for specific mac versions?

I suppose, this is an explanation for why many users can't see touch bar settings in keyboard tab and "sudo pkill" doesn't work as well as SMC and NVRAM reset.

I reached out to apple support and got this response:

Looks like there is already an open investigation ticket for this issue.

Let's hope for the fix with an update.

All those who are facing this issue please join the original question or upvote it, I have given the link to this thread to the support person. If we can create more interest, we may have a fix soon.

The new Calculator app is also missing any Touch Bar controls. It seems the Touch Bar is officially dead and buried.

This is really terrible. As a physically challenged person, I bought the 2022 13" macbook specifically for the touchbar, as it makes using certain functions much easier, and puts them in easy reach instead of having to click tiny buttons in the corners of the screen. For me, this is a usability feature, and since the 2022 M2 macbook isn't end of life as far as I am aware, these functions need to come back.

This is really sad that they also kill the touchbar software on old macbook pros

If you mean missing touchbar functionality in the newest apps, yes I do. And I provided feedback to Apple about it. Hopefully they listen, but I’m not holding my breath

Confirmed. TouchBar controls are back for FaceTime. This has given me some hope! Thank you.
