Keychain, Chrome Ext and 2FA

Hi,

I'm storing password in the iPhone.

I have iCloud for windows installed with password sharing turned on ok my laptop

i have the iCloud Passwords chrome extension installed on my laptop.

This all works beautifully, I can login to services via chrome on my laptop and access the credentials stored via my phone however I have one issue…

when I do this, the laptop asks me to click on the little extension key in chrome at which point it provides the 6 digit code that needs to be entered to access the password.

my problem is that it shares this code *on the laptop* rather than on the phone. Which kinda defeats the object of having 2FA.

Does anyone know how I can stop this code from appearing on the laptop and instead get it to always pop up on my iPhone?

Without this, anyone who would gain access to my laptop could access any passwords I save in iCloud which would be a major security risk. Have tried loads of things but can’t find a way to make this happen.

Thanks in advance for all advice.
