constant restarting after upgrade to sequoia 18 on Mac desktop

After update on Tuesday 9/16/24, my mac restarts every five minutes. Can’t use the computer, it’s useless to me until Apple software people decide or figure out how to fix it.

My 27" iMac (2020 version) with Sequoia is 100% stable, Apple thoroughly tests new versions of Mac OS in addition invites the public to as well. I suspect your problem may be related to something that you have installed on the computer. Please do the following:

It will help us get a good idea of what is causing your problem if you provide a report of your system, that way we do not have to play 20 questions with you. The report we are requesting does NOT provide any personal information and is extremely safe to use. Please navigate towww.Etrecheck.com and download the free version of EtreCheck. Once you have you downloaded the app and installed it, please run the report and save it. Hi, please start your own thread and also post an EtreCheck report (explained below) and someone will take a look. We are asking you to create your own thread because the cause of your problem is likely totally different than the OP's issue and it can get VERY confusing trying to serve 2 people on the same thread.

TO ALL WHO ARE HAVING THIS SAME PROIBLEM:

In order for us to taylor our comments and recommendations to your specific problem do what rkaufmann87 has recommended: create your own topic, state your problem, describe your hardware specifies, the system version you're using and any fixes you've tried.

Also please download and run Etrecheck.  The free version is sufficient.

Copy the report as shown in this animated screenshot

and use the Additional Text button to paste the report in your reply.

Then we can examine the report and see if we can determine the cause of the problem.
