IOS 18 update messed up the bluetooth connection to my Ford F150

After my iPhone updated to IOS 18 My phone (12 ProMax) would not connect to my Sync radio. I had to delete the phone connection on both the phone and on the radio (not Car play) After doing these steps

1. Deleted the iPhone of both devices (Truck and iPhone )
2. Turned off the Bluetooth on the iPhone Waited 10 seconds and turned it back on
3. On the radio I added a new device (iPhone)
4. Paired the iPhone and Radio on Bluetooth
5. got it to work-----However after I shut down the truck it disconnected and even though the device still shows when I try to connect it says the device (radio) does nor receive an answer from the iPhone

I also tried to connect to my Bluetooth ear pods but I had to follow the same procedure to connect them---I was able to connect but the minute I turned the ear pod off they wouldn't stay connected
