does hiding a calendar prevent an Alert:open file from firing?

made an "On My Mac" calendar for use with Automator.

Wrote 2 Automator apps.

One to Quit an app at a certain time each day, added as a daily Alert.

One to Launch a different app at a certain time each day, added as a daily Alert.

I want to hide that Calendar as it adds clutter I don't need to see.

If I hide the Calendar, will the daily Alerts still fire?

Calendar Reminders Hiding Completed Tasks on Mac (not iOS) I know it's possible to do in my iPhone and iPad, but I'd like to hide the completed tasks in Calendar on my Mac. Is this possible, and if so, how?
