My iPhone 14's screen keeps going black and freezing for up to 90 seconds

i bought an iphone 14 around a week ago. it keeps going black and freezing for up to 90 seconds. i am on the latest iOS — i could update to iOS 18, but don’t really want to yet. i don’t think it would fix it, given i’ve updated my software twice already. i have restarted my phone numerous times, and have also raken measures to prevent overheating, yet it still happens.

I would take your iPhone back to your Apple Store where you purchased it, and exchange it. You have 14 calendar days to return your iPhone from the date you received it.
