Anyone else has an issue with the fitness app since the ios18 update?

I updated my watch yesterday and I noticed that even though I can see my workouts in the fitness app, it doesn’t get added to my goals. I restarted my phone and it didn’t worked. Any suggestions? 😅

iPhone 15 Pro Max, iOS 18

I had the same issue and tried all the tips and tricks I could find here, Reddit, etc. For me, the culprit turned out to be the Health app: it was showing all data on my iPad but not on my 15 Max Pro, so I turned off the Health app sync to iCloud on my phone, and voila, the Fitness app synced all the workouts again. This also fixed the automatic upload to Strava. Once everything looked good, I re-enabled the Health app sync to iCloud, and everything is working fine now. I guess some data in the Health app got 'corrupted,' preventing proper syncing with the Fitness app, Strava, and possibly other similar apps.

My two cents. Good luck!

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution! Please look in the right direction.

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.

So to actually answer your question, yes, I am experiencing the same thing and more. Ever since updating my phone and watch OS, I can no longer see any of my friends activities in Fitness on the phone; I do see it on the watch and I do still receive notifications on the watch if a friend finishes a workout. I have a challenge going right now with a friend and on both the watch and phone, cannot see how she is doing, only how I am. I can say for sure the only thing I changed was my OS, so that has to be the culprit. There is nothing else to eliminate as a possible cause. I hope Apple fixes this quickly.

Thank you. So I just turned off the Health app in iCloud just to see. Since adding my post, it seems like most of the issue has corrected itself, but, I had a competition going w/ my friend, which has ended and for over a week now, it's over, but still says Tallying Points and that it's waiting on my friend to "submit" her total... we can't even start a new competition because the one that has ended over a week ago is just stuck in a state of limbo. After turning off the Heath app in iCloud, is there anything else I should do? Any reason to think the issue is my watch and not my phone?
