Apple Watch exposure

My wife and I have our iPhones synced with our 8 year old daughter’s Apple Watch. We want to be able to see her location and it’s nice that she can call us in case of emergency. However, I’m wondering if our phones are at risk in any way. Yesterday she received strange text and phone call ( as we all do). If she is texted a malicious link and clicks on it can that expose our phones in any way?

The only danger if she clicks on a link is if she is then tricked into giving out personal identification. Now is as good a time as any to start teaching her about online safety.
