iPad Air 2 cannot optimise music

My, soon to be replaced, iPad storage is almost full. It wants to optimise (keep originals on iCloud) my photos. I would prefer to optimise my music but in going through the steps if does not show "optimise music" Any help would be appreciated

Can I delete Music app from my iPad to free up space for updates without affecting the Music app on my iMac, iPhone, Cloud? I need help freeing up massive space on my iPad and the only three things big enough are Photos (some of which I took with the iPad), "Synced Media," and Music. Can I delete the "Synced Media" or the Music App just from the iPad so I can update the device, or will deleting those affect what's on my Mac or my iCloud+? I've had this issue for a while and asked about it way back but didn't really get an answer that could help me, so I've just let the iPad sit there with a drained battery all this while. Alternatively, could I go down the list of artists I rarely listen to and delete them just from the iPad but keep them and the associated data (date downloaded, number of plays, rating, etc.) on my iMac and in the Cloud? This would take WAY longer because I need upwards of 8 GB of space. To recap, because often answers here go far afield from the actual problem I'm stating: Can I delete "Synced Media," or part or all of the Music App just from the iPad but have everything about it remain as usual on my iMac and in the Cloud? Has anyone ever done that? Thanks!

Can’t get rid of iPad Music data My iPad is filling up. I see that there is 12gb worth of data under Music when I consult iPad storage in settings, but there are no files of music listed there, nor does it show me in Music that I’ve downloaded anything. I tried deleting Music, but it still kept the data! Reinstalling it changes nothing. Any idea how to get rid of all this data?

iOS 18.4 - noticeable lag when browsing Various Artists Just noticed this following a complete restore of my iPhone 14 Pro Max and rebuilding a (rather large) music library. When selecting "Various Artists" from under the top Artists menu, there is a noticeable lag (about 5 seconds) between making the selection and the corresponding album covers appearing. There is also a slight lag when scrolling through the resulting albums, no more than a second or two (at most) but not nearly noticeable as with accessing Various Artists. It doesn't matter if the albums were downloaded or manually transferred, the access lag still persists. I've removed the downloaded albums (and left the transferred ones in place) - perhaps some corrupted file - but the access lag still remains. I may have to attempt removing the transferred ones and replace. This is most noticeable with "Various Artists". I have artists containing about the equivalent number of albums under their "Artists" entry which also have a slight lag (Music has any videos entries immediately upon accessing before loading the list of albums) - but not nearly as bad as "Various Artists" entries. Anyone else experiencing this?
