Change display from MacAir to TV with F2 key?
Hi!
My MacAir's display died (actually both MacAirs), and I'm trying to use a TV as display. Is the shortcut command-shift-F2?
Thanks a million.

There is no need to 'switch' displays with a shortcut. If the external display is powered on and set to the right source (whichever HDMI port the cable is connected to), i.e. the TV is waiting for input, just connecting it to the Mac results in the Mac automatically detecting the display and providing a signal to it. That's assuming there's nothing else wrong with the Mac but the display.
IIRC, many years ago Command-F1 was the shortcut you are referring to (Command-Fn-1 on some keyboards), but I think that was deprecated.
The point of clamshell mode (keyboard/mouse, AC power and display connected, lid closed) is that you don't need to worry about switching mirror/extended because with the Mac closed, there is no internal display so only the connected external display is used. With that setup, pressing any key on the external keyboard starts up the Mac.

No, it's not. Your best bet is to use clamshell mode – connect an external keyboard and mouse to your Mac, connect the TV, and have the Mac on AC power.
Thank you, but I cannot connect the TV. Display is black on the MacAir, so I can't use anything but keyboard shortcut. I can't remember the shortcut.
