Hi! I'm a fan of the iPhone mini, small dimensions are important to me. I recently bought iPhone 13 mini. I'm afraid that Apple will no longer produce a mini, and I want to buy another 13 mini spare. iPhones usually serve me for a long time, on average 5 years. Is it possible to keep a spare new iPhone in a box for so long? Will something happen to him? Maybe there are some recommendations for storage?
Lithium ion batteries do not like sitting idle for a long time. it will most certainly be at the end of it's life by then. Also it sometimes happens that electronic devices can be bad out of the box. It would be a shame if you left it sitting for 5 years, only to find out it is broken and you are 4 years out of warranty
Apple stopped making the 13 mini last year. Any one of those you find now, will have been sitting in its box for at least a year.
Also, note that in 5 years or so when you need a new new, thew 13 mini will probably have stopped getting major iOS updates.
