Heavy Power Consumption in Sleep Mode

Hello MacBook Pro users,

I own a 2019 MacBook Pro with 4 Thunderbolt ports. Over the past few months, I've noticed some issues with my device. Specifically, when my MacBook is fully charged (100%) and I put it in Sleep Mode, it starts heating up and the battery drains rapidly, often within minutes. Additionally, I can hear the fan running loudly.

Please let me know how to solve this issue. I don't have any extended insurance plan.

the usual problem is that your Mac is not sleeping. Closing the lid is a REQUEST for sleep, and if you Mac ignores the request, it will stay on all night and drain the battery.

The simplest work-around is to plug it in.

senior contributor HWTech suggest engaging Caps Lock before you choose sleep off the Apple Menu.

Then if the caps lock light goes OFF, you can know that your request for sleep has been implemented, and not otherwise.

Manually putting in sleep means clicking on 'Sleep Mode' from options (not directly closing the flap)

I don't put my Mac to sleep. It is not a HD, it's a SSD. No moving parts. I do dim the screen with F1 till it's black.
