MacBook Pro 2019 battery drops to 1% after sleep mode

I have a 2019 MacBook Pro 15". If I have +/- 50% battery left and close the lid, putting it into sleep mode, when I open it back up it shows 1%. I plug it into the charger and it goes straight back to the original 50%.

It doesn't happen all the time, just randomly. It had been doing this for a few months, then it was ok for a month or two, now it's started doing it again

Disregard the battery information shown on the login screen since many times it is inaccurate....sometimes extremely inaccurate.

Does the Battery Condition ever show "Service Recommended"? If so and you are having this issue, then it would mean there is a hardware issue with the battery & the battery needs replaced. Not exactly surprising for a laptop that is 4 or 5 years old. The "Service Recommended" condition can come & go, but is more likely to show up when experiencing the actual problem, but not always since I'm not sure how often the condition is updated.

You can also try running the Apple Diagnostics to see if any hardware issues are detected. And try an SMC Reset.
