Large Language Models exist to predict words, and there are various of these to choose from.

Apple is providing support for large language models and related processing with upcoming macOS releases starting with macOS 15.1 on Apple silicon Macs.

For existing support, macOS 14 Sonoma and iOS 17 and later also have built-in predictive text support. (Apple announcement of a transformer language model support)

With macOS 14, look in System Settings > Keyboard > Text Input (Edit) > toggle Show Inline Predictive Text.

There are third-party word-prediction tools around. WordQ is one that shows in various searches, and there are alternatives to WordQ.

A Mac that is unable to get to macOS 14 or macOS 15 is going to need a third-party option though, whether that's something like WordQ, or a third-party GPT tool of some sort, or something else.
