Can't migrate an existing app to a new iPhone

I want to migrate an app (Pearl) from a bankrupt company (Pearl Automation) that works fine on my iPhone XS max running iOS 18 to my new iPhone 16 Pro Max. I used the iCloud mechanism to migrate to the iPhone 16. After the migration, the app's Icon shows up on the new phone with a download arrow, but the download fails because: "The app is no longer available in the App Store". Is there a work around?

And just to clarify what occurs in this situation, apps are not migrated from iPhone to iPhone. The data and settings are migrated, which is why you had the icon, but the actual apps download again from the App Store. If, as in this case, the app is no longer available, then as Zachyy said there is no way to get it again. You'll need to continue to use that old iPhonee to work with your hardware unless someone has made a different app that would work. Doubtful, but I won't say impossible.

Regards.

Thanks for the quick reply, the company went bankrupt in 2017, so contacting the developers isn't a practical solution. I guess the inability to obtain, retain and install the App's install file (equivalent of an IPA or RPM file) is the issue. The app was used to control a relatively expensive piece of hardware, looks like I'm out of luck.
