Wallet icon gets blue box surround when I try to download tickets
I open my ticket on my phone. Tap the wallet to download. The wallet gets a blue outline around it and does nothing. It does not download the ticket.

Outlook is doing something odd to the link. The link should install a ticket/pass in your Wallet app. I don’t think Outlook or web based mail will correctly handle the command. You need to use Apple Mail or a Google Mail app.

Yes, I know that. I add tickets and boarding passes all the time. Outlook is a well documented issue. Web based email rarely works in my experience. But if you access via Safari web browser you might have success.
It’s possible it’s the Wallet app, but deleting the app will remove all your tickets, passes, credit and debit cards. They will need to be added back to your Wallet app.
Please review the instructions for adding tickets below. I’ve included a link to an Apple Support article that contains additional information on adding tickets etc. to Apple Wallet app.

If you don't see an option to add your boarding pass, ticket, or other pass to the Wallet app, contact the merchant or company that issued it to make sure they support passes in the Wallet app.
When you add a boarding pass, ticket, or other pass to the Wallet app on your iPhone, you automatically add it to the Wallet app on your paired Apple Watch.

Do you have any Accessibility features enabled on your iPhone?
Yes, I know that, but that is exactly what happened when I tried to load the ticket prior to its expiry. In the end i had to ask the club to send me a PDF to print to take with me.
The blue box response has happened twice when trying to download tickets several days prior to the match.
What app are you using for email?
Your tickets are expired, and can’t be added to Apple Wallet.
Yes. I have a season ticket for a football club and a few days before each match I am sent an electronic ticket to download into my apple wallet. It has always worked before when I clicked the wallet icon. Now I jut get a blue box surround.
Sorry. That's what I have been doing but it doesn't work.
The instructions with the ticket say 'Download your digital ticket to your iPhone device from the button below.'
The button shows the wallet. I am attaching a picture of the screen when I first open the ticket and a second of the screen when I click on the wallet.

It's not an app. I open my email in Outlook, but I have tried web mail as well. The ticket comes up with one box for the apple wallet and one with Google. I select apple as that is what I have. With Outlook I get the blue surround, if I use webmail, I get no response at all.
Downloading from what, your iPhone? Are you trying to share your tickets or what exactly?
No. I don't
What app is that, please?
It's not an app. The wallet 2 wallet symbols are links which come with the ticket.
