New Stickers Disappear Immediately (iOS 18 Messages App)

The work around is too much having to go thru the setup process again then setting up face id, activating my bank cards in apple pay, my banking app having to ask for username and password coz faceid is reset. Nah.

Yeah, came here because all my custom stickers created from family photos disappeared after I upgraded to 16 Pro. Now I see the problem goes even deeper, new stickers disappear. This wound be where I forward the thread to my friend with the sticker of me after splashing water on my face where it looks like I’m crying; but, can’t even do that.

This is salt in the arterial wound from terrible the software glitches the first week and a half.

P.S., to the inquisitive reader. Yes, I did a full iCloud backup with all boxes checked immediately prior to setting up the new phone as instructed from said backup, on a fast stable home wifi connection. I also use arch, btw

What is wrong with Apple. I have this problem on my new 16 pro, and the 15 pro I gave my niece!!!!

she and I used to send stickers to each other all the time. Now she wakes her old 12 pro back. It’s not been upgraded 🤷🏻‍♂️

Apple should be able to resolve this in short order..,it’s Apple 🤦🏻‍♂️

Same issue here on iPhone 16 Pro. Since I directly transferred my data from my iPhone 12 mini, I can't add stickers from my photos (they just disappear somehow). I updated to iOS 18.1 today, but it still doesn't fix the problem.

I continue to wallow in grief when photos from which I could make the most impressive photos seem to go to waste. Each time I attempt to save one of these stellar stickers, I feel the same punch to the gut as it disappears. No update has provided the needed solution. Why, Apple? WHY???

I share your loss. After updating to 18.0.1 getting no joy. Stickers disappear and I really miss this feature on my iPad and am mourning their loss. No cool effects. Wonder why this is happening. 😭😭

I found them. They don’t live in with the emojis. There’s a little icon next to the text box on WhatsApp ( haven’t tried messaging yet)

the one next to the camera icon. They’re all hiding in there😁. Can’t find them to add to this post though😡 and as above can create for use on other apps. Only seem to work in WhatsApp.

Same. Went to the 16 pro from the 12 pro, all my stickers never transferred over and can’t make new ones. Was going the 18.1 update would fix it, but, nope. It did fix my Siri though which wasn’t working. Have had the phone for about a month.

Happened to me as well on my 15pro but I didn’t change phones. I went to use a sticker and realised they were all gone and I’m unable to make new ones. They don’t even appear when I attempt to make them

Same !! I keep trying to make a sticker it stays for one second and disappears and will not appear on my keyboard like others . And I have blank emojis spots in my keyboard after using the new Genmoji

Same here I just upgraded to 16 pro and I tried to add the stickers and I was there for one second and my friend has the 12 pro max and she got all of them and I asked her how she did it and I tried but and disappeared.

I’m really sorry 😞 for everybody posting here with this issue. I cannot understand why this is happening or how it has. Decided to investigate this issue.

We have 4 Apple devices in household out of them. Apple iPhone 15 works even with update. iPhone SE and generation 5 iPad ok.

My brand new 2024 iPad which I only got recently isn’t working and has big black spots as well as gets stuck and sticker overlays other smileys before vanishing!!

As well as being bereft and morose with no stickers. I have developed “sticker guilt” that these don’t work for everyone on here as well. 😟🥺

I have an iPhone 15 and recently updated to ios 18.1, i can access my stickers only on imsg but can no longer access them on instagram which made me sad because now I cant make my posts as cute :( please please fixxx😢

iPhone 14 Pro,running iOS 18.1 I’ve been running the latest software since release. Stickers disappeared as of today. Power cycle didn’t fix it. Also unable to save stickers from existing text threads.

I keep seeing people mention this solution brings stickers back, but no mention of it allowing for new sticker creation after the fact. So is it actually a full solution? It’s keeping me from updating my personal devices until it gets fixed. My work phone is the only one impacted right now. And while I could probably restore that one I feel like I shouldn’t have to do that to resolve my problems. If you do in fact go for it I’m hopeful to hear from you if it does actually fix both parts of the issue lol. Honestly this glitch is impacting so many users they shouldn’t avoid fixing it when they do the next update.
