Verify valid Sequoia download source?

I can't seem to get Sequoia to download completely for an install. I keep getting an error when trying. I'm trying to find a valid download link to directly download it. I found one on iclarified to which they are quoted as a direct link. Can someone validate this or advise where I can get it?

The installer may be attempting to download firmware updates which are not included in the main download. Try a different network / Internet connection or just try again in a day or so.

Are you upgrading from Sonoma or an older macOS version? Skipping major releases can be problematic.

I know of a free app called SilentKnight that can check for updates and verify the security settings are set appropriately. However, it's quite nerdy and would likely be very confusing for someone not versed with the internals of macOS and how things work. The author wrote extensive documentation.

I will provide the link, but you need to do the following:

  1. If you are uncomfortable at any point, STOP
  2. Download and unzip SilentKnight 2.11 (Universal App for Catalina to Sequoia
  3. Drag SilentKnight to /Applications
  4. Open SilentKnight and go to the app Settings (CMD + Comma)
  5. Set it to download only
  6. Click the Set button
  7. Quit and relaunch SilentKnight
  8. It will check your system providing technical details. It will create a button to update if there are updates to install. It will also alert to any problems it finds.
  9. Take a screenshot and reply here before you tell it to update.

I can confirm, the below Terminal command, will download the 14.54 GB " Install Sequoia Application "

It will appear, once completed, in the Application folder of this computer

It is Required to have an Active and functional Internet Connection during the Installation process for the reason mentioned y @James Brickley " The installer may be attempting to download firmware updates which are not included in the main download. "

softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 15.0

I have been trying to download Sequoia using multiple Macs & networks for several days now using the command line utility "softwareupdate". Still unsuccessful. It keeps aborting about every 10% or so. Usually when I go to restart the download it resumes at the last point, but sometimes it does not. One time I was able to reach over 85% and got a different error which implied the download completed, but something went wrong perhaps with the verification of the downloaded file. Seems Apple's servers just cannot handle to load yet.

I personally don't care about Sequoia, but needed it because Apple was forcing it on me in order to perform a DFU firmware Revive/Restore which was not able to work at all under a fully patched Sonoma. Very annoying when Apple forces things like this and cannot handle the server load for people needing access for other reasons.
