Iphone 16 pro battery seems so poor. I unplugged my phone at 9:15 am and by 4pm it had only 32% with 3hrs of screen time. I did my 0.5gb update hoping it will extend baterry life and upgrade functionality of my iPhone.
How is it possible? Anyone experiencing bad battery life as well?

I had the exact same issue. Drove me insane. Battery was terrible, especially while phone was idle. Talked to Apple and they said to bring it in for inspection. I reset the phone (not factory reset) and nothing. HOWEVER, I tried a factory reset via my MacBook, and voila! The problem is gone. Battery is now amazing! Charged my phone 20 hrs ago and it still has 71% left. So, factory reset via your computer. My guess is when they installed software there was some type of error when downloading directly to the phone in the beginning. Hope this helps!

No, creating a new iCloud account has nothing to do with your battery capacity. You may lose some data.
iPhone charges when syncing to a Mac. Most syncing on an iPhone occurs during the night so it doesn’t interfere with with your daily activity.

You usage is mostly irrelevant. The issue is the apps you're using may need to change, or they did change (via an update) and that’s what is causing the issues for you the last week.
As an example I watch YouTube almost exclusively on my iPad Pro. I noticed my battery consumption was much higher, I checked, and YouTube updated 4 or 5 days ago and my YouTube increase coincided with the update. Now I’m waiting for an update to fix their last update.
I don’t care about your time, look and see what apps consume you battery capacity.

Stop using Instagram and Snapchat and you won’t need to worry. I don’t use either app and look at my usage on a single charge. Why am I getting 10+ hours on my iPhone 16 Pro Max and you’re not?
Your options are to continue the way you are and that’s not satisfactory. You can discontinue using apps that are root cause of the issues, but that’s not satisfactory. You can wait for Instagram, Snapchat, WhatsApp and a handful of other defective apps to update a provide a satisfactory user experience.
It’s your software that’s causing your problems, not the hardware. Sorry.
The battery on my two week old Iphone 16 pro is really disappointing. It hardly carries me through the day. And I am not a big user mobile phone. I really want to return it. It is worst than my five year old iPhone XS. Has anyone returned the phone back?
Hey I just got my iPhone pro 16 yesterday. I unplugged it from full
powrr and it’s down to 75% in 2.5 hours… that will give me 10 of power at this rate! Ridiculous. Can you share how you did the factory reset by computer? I don’t have a Mac so not sure if it would work for me but I would like to try. Does that also then totally reset the phone with none of my setup/downloads etc?
Let us know the results of removing WhatsApp. We just have what other users have posted to go by. It clearly does not affect all users with the iPhone 16, so finding the common denominator will be essential. The WhatsApp draining issue has affected previous iOS versions and other devices as well.
I already have a bunch of functions disabled, i don’t have background app refresh on, i don’t have always on display, i am using wifi, i keep my luminosity pretty low, location is set to while using… and that’s the stats that i got with all these things set. I didn’t see anything improving up until now… so i have no idea if its the phone, if i had too much expectations from it (battery not too drain that fast).
I I hope what you’re saying about the phone still doing all the indexing is true because I just got my phone yesterday afternoon 16 Pro. This morning 8am I had a full charge. It’s not even 2:30pm and I have 17%. This is unacceptable if this is the battery life all the time then I am definitely returning it
