Activity Ring on Apple watch shows in Minutes, rather than calories

I am wondering why on my son's apple watch, his activity ring displays minutes, while mine displays calories (which I thought was the norm/default). Is there a way to adjust his to calories?

Thank you! I thought that may be the case, but I could not track the info down. Where did you find it? It is unfortunate that I do not have the option. He likes to compete with me, but he stands no chance. I guess I have to figure out what his minutes should be relative to my calories. Thanks again!

Just my recollection of knowledge! When your son turns 13, his Activity ring will be displayed in calories. Have a splendid day!
