Mac Mini/Studio setup using MacBook

I want to purchase a Mini or Studio and use my MacBook for setup instead of purchasing a keyboard and monitor. Future control of the new Mac would be via the MacBook using existing Mac functionality. This is strictly related to setting up the new machine without a traditional monitor/keyboard combination.

I haven't found a definitive answer to this question in the Apple Community or on the web.

You will need at least a mouse to do the initial setup. It can't be done remotely. Best to just borrow a keyboard and mouse; it'll be much easier since trying to do it with just a mouse is quite convoluted.

After that you could use Universal Control to control the Mini or Studio, assuming your MacBook will support it:

though depending on what use you intend to put it, that may or may not work adequately.

Regards.
