Since the update to iPadOS 18 some newly created passwords are not being saved

Since the recent iOS 18 upgrade on my iPad, some newly created passwords are not being saved. If I choose to use the suggested strong passwords then they are saved. However some sites won’t accept the Apple suggested passwords as their criteria aren’t met. So, if I create my own passwords they are accepted by the sites but don’t appear in the new passwords app. Does anyone have an answer to this problem?

I have a similar problem, however even if I use a generated password by pressing the fill and save button, it doesn’t update the password in the password app, so when I try to log into website afterwards ,it auto fills my old saved password instead of the new one.

if I go into passwords I can find the new auto generated password under the title of recently generated passwords, I then have to copy it, paste into website and then I get the box confirmation to update password in keychain.

Very frustrating!
