Disable gesture controls

I’m looking for a way to disable the gesture controls. I’ve been constantly having an issue where I set my phone down while reading/scrolling through something and when I pick it back up, it scrolls me automatically back to the top, causing me to lose my place.

is there any way to disable this? I don’t want, need, or intend to use this feature at all.

Rapid scrolling is a bug, not a feature Why is there no way to disable the most aggravating thing on the iPhone, rapid scrolling! If I’m way down in a family chat that started years ago, and I inadvertently touch the upper corner of the screen, I have to then manually scroll all the way back! You know it’s a bug, because you can’t turn it off.
