How do I update Safari in my browser?

I updated back up. I got 18 up-to-date. I see Safari while I’m talking to you here. How do I keep Safari up-to-date? I prefer Apple over Google and Google keeps on interfering with my browser. It sneaks in all the time try to take over.

When you update your iPadOS that also updates Safari. If you have iPadOS 18.0 you also have the latest version of Safari.

If you go to Settings > Apps > Safari you can set your "Default Browser App" to Safari. You can also set your "Search Engine" in Settings > Apps > Safari.
