iPhone 16 pro Video Sound Recording Issues

I purchased iPhone 16pro, it doesn’t record voice while filming in all modes ( normal, cinematic…) , totally mute!

is it software or hardware issue?

I have an issue with microphone on my iPhone 16 pro. While i’m calling to someone, sometimes microphone works, sometimes don’t. Only when I restart the phone, the microphone starts working. But only for a moment. does anyone also have this problem?

I am finding noise distortion on my videos when I post them to social. So much echo. Wonder if an update is coming that will fix it.

I got the 16 pro max and I have a echo in the audio when I upload to instagram or to a video editing app. Is there a fix to this?!!

Choose stereo in record sound setting in the camera settings

I just had my baby’s first ultrasound ever.

I recorded a video to show my parents and my in-laws, all overseas, so they could listen to the heartbeat, and the video came up with no audio.

This is such a disappointment.

I have an IPhone 16 Pro Max. Default settings were used (Spatial audio and whatever is underneath was activated).

The iMovie hack someone posted here doesn’t work for me.

Apple, don’t make me regret this purchase. If I cannot have a reliable tool for the important moments in life, you are essentially useless.

I am having the exact same issue. Same phone when recording videos at band practice.

Very frustrating, Have you found a fix yet?

I went to a concert last night and shot at least 10+ videos. Only the first two had audio. I can’t remember if the affected videos were because I’d launched the camera app using Camera Control or whether I swiped over from the Lock Screen. But it’s extremely frustrating nevertheless. I’ve force restarted this new phone due to camera freeze more times than I’ve ever done before. Not loving the iPhone 16 Pro line experience so far.

TO SOLVE:

Turn off vocal shortcuts in settings.

Then shut down and restart your phone.

Do what BhumiDarji suggested above, setting the record sound to Stereo. Also enable Mono Audio on accessibility > audio & visual. Now check your US video, the sound will be there :)

I had the same issue and talking with apple support, they told me they're aware of it, and said the issue will be solved in a future update.

While recording video, and audio record is set to spatial then no audio being recorded in any of the video

Nope, this didn't work for me. Audio is not there :(

Now, my Camera app won't even start!?!? Had to restart the phone ...

That is, the Camera app will start for about 1 second and the screen will go blank and then back to the Home screen.

What the f*** is going on!? Contacting apple support ....

I was also facing this same issue. No sound found on phone/camera recorded videos. No vidoes have sound when i played it. Is this software issue or hardware issue ?

Update: the iOS 18.0.1 update that was supposed to fix the camera issues did not work. 😓
