Unable to Update to macOS Sequoia

From M2 equipped MacBook Air, I used the macOS software Update to download the macOS 15.0 software to update the computer. The download appeared normal at this point.

When I went to install the software, it begins fine but at the 52 minute mark it stops and shows an error "Failed to download required installer asset (SFR). macOS installer could not be downloaded. Make sure you're connected to the internet and try again, or contact Apple support for assistance."

I have tried without success the following:

  • Removing the update and reinstalling
  • Install downloaded software from Safe mode
  • Downloaded the software, restarted the compute and then tried to install

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
