Need immediate help understanding activation lock (Not a typical scenario)

Okay so, to make things short, i got my iphone 13 pro max stolen roughly 2 months ago, i did the whole activation lock thing and apple gave me a month before they automatically removed the lost iphone from my ‘find my’ as it wasn’t online for that whole month.

Now, despite this removal the lost phone is still linked to my apple ID and that begs the question i want answered: Is my activation lock still on or not? As i read somewhere that the activation lock is tied to the apple ID and not the ‘find my’ app.

Yes, the phone is and will remain Activation Locked. If you remove the phone from your list of devices, that would remove Activation Lock. So don't ever remove the phone from your device list.
