iPad Pro M4 got dead

I just purchased IPad Pro M4 in August and while updating to ios 18 my iPad got dead in between the process. I went to Apple Store and they replaced my device with another M4 iPad Pro. I wonder if it is a refurbished one or the new one. My iPad was just a brand new with no body defect, it was just dead while updating to new software. Though I did not pay anything for the service but still I want to know if I received a whole new Device or the refurbished one. It really hurts when we give a brand new and receive an old one.

iPad Pro, iPadOS 17

It could be either, per Apple's warranty terms, though this soon after the M4 iPad was introduced I'd be surprised if Apple has much in the way of refurbished stock. But Apple does a lot of work during refurbishment - it's not just wiping the thing clean and sending it out again - so there's really no difference between a new and a refubished iPad other than user perception.

Regards.
