I want to update my iPad 3rd Gen

To update your iPad, go to Settings > General > Software Update and update to your latest iOS software.

Keep in mind, your iPad 3rd generation has reached the end of its software updates support for the latest iOS operating system, and cannot be updated past iOS 9.3.5.

If you are talking about the iPad 3rd generation that was discontinued 12 years ago, then iOS 9 is the best you can get.

It is going to take a newer iPad that has the hardware to support a newer version of iPad OS.

Then you’ll be replacing it with a newer (used, refurb) or new iPad, as that iPad has — as Zachyy sagely mentioned — reached the end of its road. Any recent of which will be substantially more capable than an iPad from ~2012.
