AirPods 4 ANC - low call volume on MS Teams on Windows 11

Hi, I have the Airpods 4 ANC and I followed HonigOldYang's recommendation. The Airpods Mic option did go away on Teams, however, someone else suggested to select the Mic Array option and it did. My airpods are working fine both for listening and talking. Hope it works for you as well. Good luck!

No decent solution exist at the moment. This is Apple-Microsoft compatibility issue.

I’m still having trouble to believe such issue has not been solved yet. I’m probably going to return my brand new airpods and buy something that I can dial MS teams call in.

Yes, you can select the input device Labeled as Microphone Array …. This use actually your AirPods as Micron.

Update on this topic:

1. The problem seems to be related to a specific Windows11/Teams - combination. On my other laptop with a slightly older version of Win11 I can use the Airpods 4 without any problem.
2. A colleague experienced the same problem with a rather new Sony Headset.

Wild guess: maybe the problem is related to the noise cancellation functionality?

I’m facing the same issue with my AirPod 4 and noticed that it seems to be a problem when connecting to not only MS teams but also other apps like Discord, Zoom etc.

Resetting the brand new, out of the box, iPods worked for me too. Now I can use them with teams and Ayaya softphone. Thanks for the inputs.

Now Slack calls volume is fine.

Same issue. Ive tried alot of suggestions and the call quality has improved during teams meetings sound but compared to the airpods 3, the sound during teams is really bad using windows 11 and the desktop app. Ive stopped using them because of it....

I have been facing with the same issue with my brand new Airpods 4. I'm using MS Teams in daily basis and one of the reason I purchase Airpods was conducting meeting without any cable salad of other headphones. Surprisingly, I cannot hear anything during the teams meeting with Airpods 4. The volume must be set roughly around 10% or 15% of Airpods capacity. Apparently both parties (Apple and Microsoft) should deliver some immediate update. This is not acceptable!

Has anyone found a fix?

Switching the microphone to a different input used to work, but as of late last week no longer works either.

I have tried everything I can possibly think of and have combed the web for every fix imaginable from restarts replacements and settings in device manager.

Really need to get this figured out for work, shocking it is such a known problem that won't get fixed.

I don't yet know if this is a permanent solution, but it did work for me after reboot. The device is still disabled. My AirPods 4 have ANC (if that matters). Before this fix, on my first connect I had volume in Slack (or Teams), but after testing the volume again, it would fail. Or if I tried to listen to a music app, like Spotify, I'd hear the music fine, but then Slack would have the low volume again, just like Teams. I was just able to open Spotify, hear the music, then go back to Slack and do a sound test, and I don't have the low volume problem. I'll continue trying to break it by switching apps, rebooting again, connecting and disconnecting, etc. but I'm hopeful. Thank you!

I'm glad, @dckbc. It turns out it didn't help me with Slack. I ended up buying some Galaxy Buds 3. They work great. I'll continue to use the AirPods 4 for my phone because the noise cancelling is amazing.
