Hi there,
I was selling my old watch so I removed it from my Apple ID (through apple account section in settings menu) THEN erased the watch content on the watch itself. I didn’t realise until an hour later the watch was still showing in the Find My app and was still linked.
I then removed it from the Find My App and then from the watch app I hit unpair.
I can’t see the watch anywhere now, has this worked?

Once your Apple Watch is unpaired, and the Watch is removed from Find My, you are good to go.

The thing is, I removed the device from my apple id in settings and then erased the watch in person but I didn’t remove it from Find My or Unpair from the watch app until I was not near the watch. How do I know if it was successful?

If your removed the device from your Apple Account in Settings, it should of removed from Find My. Take a look at your Find My app on your iPhone, does the Watch still show up in your list of devices?

You should still be allowed to unpair your Watch and remove it from Find My remotely.
