Apple Pencil completely stopped working

So i was using my pencil in class first thing on Friday and didn’t use it until the next day and when i when to get it, it completely stopped working. I let it charge to 100%, I unpaired it and reset the iPad more than once and not even a few days ago it stopped working. I took my sisters pencil to see if it was the iPad but it worked perfectly (this was a week ago) what should i do i need it for my classes Im not sure if it has apple care or not and its a few years old the screen isn’t cracked or anything so I don’t know what’s happened
