Just upgraded to a M3 MacBook Pro and I'm having issues

I just upgraded from a 2019 MBP (16G ram) to a M3 Pro MBP with 18G of RAM.

I'm surprised to be having latency issues. Menus seem to be freezing and stuck, thumbnails and icons seem to be sticking or missing, things are just overall sluggish.

I was running off battery at first and thought it might be related to power so I plugged in (USB-C) and that did not help.

I'm just running my typical apps (Logic, FCPx, Messages, and Mail and possibly a browser) and I'm sorry to say this feels a bit like a dog.

Is this a typical problem? RAM my issue?
