cannot delete pic from photos app

Hi. I uploaded a jpeg pic from my pc to my iphone xs ios 17.7 but cannot edit or remove it. Although visible on my phone it is not so when viewed via my pc.

It is not synced with other devices now or in the past. There isnt a copy in icloud, idrive, onedrive, google drive, google photos or itunes (I've never used them but checked anyway)

I 've set my folders to show hidden items but no change there either.

Is there a workaround for this to rid me of this bothersome pic

Using iTunes is the way it is normally done from a PC. This picture was synced to your phone from the PC, so it will not allow you to delete it from the phone. Connect the phone again to your PC and verify the photos that you do want to keep syncing to your phone. If that picture is no longer set to sync, then resyncing the phone will remove the picture.

Hi again.

I found the folder that the pic was in and deleted it. I then told iTunes to sync to that folder and voila, the pic has gone. Thank you

How exactly did you upload it form the Pc?

If you used the sync option in iTunes / Devices App on Windows or Finder on a Mac

You need to sync the iPhone again and deselect the pic you synced originally to remove it.

What process did you use to upload the pic from your PC to your Phone? Was this done using iTunes?

Hi Mac. I genuinely believed that I just dragged and dropped, but when trying it today (pic from to PC to iphone internal storage it didn't work must have used iTunes.
