My two iMac 27's use the Apple M1 chip

I was wondering what happened to the iMac27 as I have recommended it to several people (Windows users like I was until I saw the iMac27) and then found out that it doesn't exist anymore. And for some strange reason some seem to think that the iMac27 had used Intel stating things like Apple wasn't going to migrate their M-series silicon to the iMac27.

The fabulous 27-inch integrated display is why I bought two of them, ditching Microsoft.

The title of your post ("My two iMac 27's use the Apple M1 chip") is misleading. All of the 27" iMacs that Apple ever released had Intel chips. The Late 2009 through Late 2013 ones had 2560x1440 pixel displays. Later ones had 5K (5120x2880 pixel) displays.

Apple now has a standalone 27" 5K Studio Display that is very similar to the built-in displays of 27" 5K Retina iMacs.

We don't know what Apple is planning to do.

Last November, an Apple representative confirmed that Apple had no plans to release an Apple Silicon version of the 27-inch iMac. Apple was encouraging buyers to pair a 27" 5K Studio Display with a Mac mini or Mac Studio.

The Verge (November 6, 2023) – Apple has no plans to make a 27-inch iMac with Apple Silicon

Of course, Apple could have changed their minds since then, without announcing their change of heart. We have no way of knowing, one way or the other.
