Non-Apple watch charger heats up watch during charging

I bought an after market portable watch charger. The input is 5V/1A and the output is 2.5W. My series 8 stainless Apple watch gets up to 92 degrees when charging. Will this damage my watch battery?

Potentially, yes. Unless you can afford to replace your Apple Watch, I suggest that you don't skimp on what charger you use with it.
