Order of photos in a shared album - entered one by one in order wanted - displays in reverse

I am trying to create a shared album with photos of a boat I am selling. I want the phots to be in a specific order starting with photos of the overall boat then detailed photos of different areas. I read others suggestions and put all the photos into a separate file on my Mac and started each phot name with a number 1 - 45. Then I sent the share link. When the link is opened the 45 photos are all there and in order BUT the order is backwards. They are displayed number 45 to 1 instead of 1 to 45. How can I get them to be in the order 1 - 45?

Hmm.. Sounds like you used both tricks right, but the adding in order trick is really for a Shared Album that you are going to Share normally with another iCloud user. That's the only way that I've used Shared Albums.

Your evidence reminds me that I have heard people saying before that Shared Albums accessed through links came out backwards. Seemed so odd at the time that I dismissed the reports since I wasn't planning to use that feature.

Since you now know that they came out backwards for you twice, try it again, but upload them in the opposite order (25...1) so that when reversed they will appear in the order you want your link recipients to view them. It's a kludge, but seems it should work.

Best of luck selling your boat!

You mention two different storage schemes:

--entering photos in a shared album one at a time in the order you want them shown

--putting photos in a separate file (folder?) with names in the order you want shown

Which one did you do?

The first one should work with a shared album link in Photos.

The second one might work with in some file sharing system if the receiver views the shared folder in order by name.

I put the photos into a folder on my desktop in the order I wanted and named each photo with a number at the beginning starting with 1 - 25. Then I pulled each one into a shared album one at a time in order 1 - 25. They appeared in the correct order as viewed in the album. I created a link to share the album and sent to my email. I clicked the link and the shared album appeared but the photos were displayed in reverse order 25 - 1. I tried twice with same result.
