Mirror iPhone Notifications on Watch Not Working

iPhone 16 Pro Max v18.0 (upgraded/restored from iPhone 15 Pro Max)

I have my watch set to mirror notifications from my iPhone. basically, I have email notifications set to no sound. While these types of notifications are silent on my phone, they still are audible on my watch. Keep in mind that I do not want to silence my whole watch. I only want to silence mail notifications.

I have force-restarted both devices multiple times. I really don't want to reset my settings—as this will be a pain to reconfigure.

Same issue with iOS 18 and watch is ultra. Phone notifications for mail are silent as defined in settings and watch is to mirror settings but still getting sound alert on watch after multiple restarts.

Similar experience here. Also notification behavior on new iPhone 16 Pro is not the same as my older iPhone 14 Pro - even after doing a full transfer. Latest OS on everything
