Should I upgrade to Sequoia?

Hello community.

I am currently running Sonoma 14.6.1 on a 2018 Mac mini. It has the intel core i7. Recently I have been having trouble with Safari, which might be cleared up if I upgraded to either Sonoma 14.7 or Sequoia 15.0. Usually Apple tells me, "it's time to update", but no messages have come from Apple.

So should I wait?

Should I upgrade to Sonoma 14.7?

Should I upgrade to Sequoia 15.0?

To upgrade or not to upgrade is totally up to you.

Upgrading to fix a problem is generally not a good idea.

To get a good idea of what the problem with Safari is,

Download and run the free version of EtreCheckPro, from > https://etrecheck.com/en/index.html

Then post the Report, as per > How to use the Add Text Feature When Post… - Apple Community

FWIW I took our 2018 Mac mini from Monterey up to Sequoia without any issues.

Supposedly that is compatible with Sequoia. macOS Sequoia is compatible with these computers - Apple Support

Recently I have been having trouble with Safari

What kind of trouble?

might be cleared up if I upgraded to either Sonoma 14.7 or Sequoia 15.0.

Do the release notes for either Sonoma 14.7 or Sequoia 15.0 specifically say they resolve the exact trouble that you have been experiencing with Safari - word for word? If not, then upgrading will only make it worse. Perhaps much worse.

Usually Apple tells me, "it's time to update", but no messages have come from Apple.

You can check System Settings > Software update

So should I wait?

Absolutely.
