I received my Apple Watch Series 10 on September 20 2024. Worked perfectly for one week then on September 29, it suddenly went from 80% at noon to 20% at 5 pm. I am tracking the time now but I can see that it is significantly losing power every hour. I rebooted, but it is still losing significant power. Unless I can come up with a solution, this watch is going back!

Apple Watch Series 10, watchOS 11
My s10 has been getting 3-4 hours of battery life with minimal things running.
The guy at the Apple Store told me it is the phone software that is jacking with the watch. I got a 16 pro late October. He had me reset to factory and re-pair to see if it would fix whatever is causing peak watch battery use. Funny thing is that my iPhone gets 2-3 days of use if I don’t kill it on social media.
yes, I was thinking of that too in case it recurs or there’s a problem with the watch. I’m sure they know about it already but I’ll inform them today. So far it seems to be holding the charge after I did what you sugfested. Thanks for the link and your assistance. Much appreciated!
On my appleWatch 8, the battery just started draining only just last week. My battery went from 100 to <5% in 6-7 hours. I tried the update, but it didn't help at all. I am now trying the unpairing and re-pairing. I hope it works. until this started, the battery previously would last for over 30 hours, and now it is dead only 6-7 hours into my day.
My old watch series 3 lasted longer than this. Also the reason I got a 10. I’m tracking detailed times and % and will call them probably tomorrow. Something needs to be corrected.
Thank you. I unpaired it but restored it from the previous backup. If that doesn’t work I’ll set it up as a new device. I disabled live activities as well. I’ll let you know if this works thank you!

I did as you suggested and so far I'm losing 4% per hour on average. That sounds like it's in the normal range. I'll see what happens in the next few days. Thanks for your assistance!
There is an update!
Not seeing that watchOS 1.0.1 has improved situation. On my Series 7it is worse.
Just sitting at my desk, it has gone from 100% to 28% in 6 hr!

Haven’t changed anything after the last update, which was watch os 11 on the 20th of September and first of all I was positively surprised that watch lasts around 30-36hrs. Two days ago it went from 100 to nil in 18 hours and today died after 14 ish. Definitely something going on in the background, like I said i didn’t change anything and the way I use the watch.
