UPDATE

iOS 18.1 just rolled out. Installed it on my iPhone and both battery and screen error messages are gone. Issue resolved.

So, it WAS an Apple bug and were right to raise this issue here.

Let's take this slowly so you can follow the discussion.

1) I'm not like you, I successfully repaired the phone myself.

2) On iOS 17, the unknown part error disappeared after 15 days and my phone was functioning perfectly.

3) Apple updated iOS 18 to include a new repair menu but created a bug which meant phones without errors suddenly had errors.

4) Apple messed up.

5) End of story.

Agreed. This situation is ridiculous - it is the same on every major release. iOS 18 starts breaking phones. Apple essentially says 'who cares' and point to warranties (pay up more or else no phone). People say 'no thanks, I'll do it myself' and Apple punishes them. It is unacceptable, highly unethical behaviour. Steve Jobs will be rolling in his grave. Support trying to help me but iOS 18 can't even run remote diagnostics properly it seems. Again, NOT my fault. That's nothing to do with my screen replacement or skills. It is poor software development, or potentially purposeful software development (heavens forbid).

Thanks for the update. I'm pleased your situation has improved. I've just updated and I immediately notice an improvement in general performance of the phone and the screen lighting. Alas the Display configuration in Parts & Service, 'Restart & Finish Repair' continues to say 'unable to configure' so who knows when they'll get around to fixing that. I agree, the issues experienced are absolutely nothing to do with us.
