Yes, I see that. But we are also discussing the phones that work and the ones that don’t, who has which iOS etc. Jumping in to say it’s irrelevant and just call Verizon isn’t helpful. Verizon still works perfectly for other phones, so clearly it’s not that Verizon went down. Many of us did contact Verizon first, I did. But discussing why this phone works, yet that phone doesn’t is of interest here.

Same - and I have a 15 Pro Max and am on iOS 17.6.1, so not even 18 yet. Second time this year - last when I was traveling and was told at the Verizon store I needed to send the phone in for repair/replacement because the SIM reader was bad (cannot do this while on the road and in need of my phone) so I went ahead and purchased an entirely new phone since I was on the road. So tried of Verizon.

Same thing has happened to my husband and daughter’s phones, but mine and three others on the same plan are fine. The four that are working are on 17.7. At least one that isn’t has been updated to 18.0, we can’t contact my husband to confirm if his is 18.0 or not. We are on Verizon in Northern, NV. I don’t believe it’s a phone or provider issue.

Same here. My husband's phone is working just fine. My 15 Pro Max is using iOS 17.6.1 (I haven't updated yet) and cannot use it to make or receive calls. This is the SECOND time this year this has happened to me. I had to buy an entirely new phone in April because I was told the SIM card was bad and since I was out of town traveling home that evening, I had no option but to buy a whole new, $1600 iPhone! This is ridiculous and shows how vulnerable we are if things go south.
