iMovie processor usage improvement?

I have a Mac Mini M2 Pro with 16gig of ram. After I edit my iMovie and export the movie, I notice in Activity Monitor that my processors are only being used about 12% capacity, and I still have free memory.

Is there a way that I can require my Mac to use 90% of all resources during my exports? I would like to speed up the exports.

Hi,

I'm not aware of any way to make a Mac use more resources to carry out a process.

Export speed can be affected by various factors, such as using the Pro Res export option, the complexity of the edits, the size of the project, being low on application free space, the speed of the processor, the bitrate of the video, your export settings, etc. Exports do take time, so unless the export speed is really, really slow, it should not be regarded as a problem. Most likely it is normal operation.

However, possibly there is some way of making the Mac use more resources for an export. If so, hopefully someone on this forum will chime in.
