Why can’t I use FaceTime effects on my iPhone 11 Pro Max?

My phone is on the latest update. And i still don’t have the FaceTime effects.I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max. I looked through all my settings and everything still don’t know what to do.

To use hand gesture reactions on a Facetime call requires an iPhone 12 or later.
