App is trying to charge me after telling me it was a free trial!

It said there was a 30 day free trial and it immediately tried to charge me almost $70. I use my PayPal account on my Apple ID so there wasn't enough to cover the $70 and I don't think I should even have to pay it. It was obviously a lie or scam when it said 30 day free trial. I chatted with Apple who said there wasn't anything that can be done and I'd have to just pay the $70. That's not going to happen. It's the principle of the matter. Now, I can't download ANY apps or update any apps. Do I have to create a whole new Apple ID and lose everything in order to be able to download apps again?

This whole thing is so messed up. I need my phone for work. There some apps I needed downloaded like yesterday! lol

You will have to pay or, unfair or not, you will not be able to download anything more. You can ask for a refund.

Notes:

• "If you signed up for a free or discounted trial subscription and you don't want to renew it, cancel it at least 24 hours before the trial ends."

• An existing subscription will normally continue until the end of its term and may then renew automatically. Stopping automatic renewal is effectively canceling it. "If you don’t see Cancel Subscription, then the subscription is already canceled and won't renew." The "Expires" date means the current subscription will just run until then. • What is the name of the app?
  • Had you used a trial for it before?
  • You can view your purchase history using the link to see if had been downloaded before. Use the second option to view it in the App Store when you are able to view much more than just your recent transactions.

It is true you will not be able to download/update any apps until it has been paid. Disputing the charge with PayPal, even if that is possible, may not even change your ability to use that Apple ID in the future for updates/purchases.

Hello. Yeah I know how to cancel subscriptions. And I always cancel WAY before it's expiring if I know I'm not going to want the app. It was like moments after I signed up for a 30 day free trial that I got a notification from my PayPal account that said there weren't enough funds to cover that almost $70 transaction. I was so confused because it was supposed to be a free trial. I canceled the subscription immediately. And it's obviously a scam. I wonder if PayPal can do anything about it....
