Apple Cash Identity Verification Problem

Hi I bought my phone in the US, but I am hungarian and I live in Hungary. When I try to set up my Apple Cash it only accepts US documents at verification. Is there a chance for me to change that to hungarian documents or at least passport?

Apple Cash is service issued and administered by Green Dot Bank. The bank is very specific on what they require in order to satisfy federal banking regulations.

Why is positive ID required?

The Patriot Act requires that lenders, banks etc obtain a confirmed ID.

“To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.”
