Just trade in my iPhone 12 Pro Max for the 16 expecting it to have all the features that were advertised with Apple Intelligence.
But instead I got a phone virtually the same as my 12 with a bit of a hardware upgrade.

iPhone 16 Pro Max, iOS 18
It hasn't been released yet. Apple Intelligence will be available this Fall. It was not expected in the initial launch of iOS 18. Visit the website for more details.
There is not even an AI option on the 16 pro max that I bought yesterday. Nor a waiting list option.

So I just update to iOS 18.2. And it has Apple intelligence. I could it see the option for it in Siri on 18.1
My iPhone 16 pro has it turned on and its still not working,

I just got mine today, Dec 18th, and it does not have Apple intelligence and I too believed it would when I bought it.
My Apple intelligence on my pro max 16 says it’s in Beta. I thought it was publicly released with ios18.2

Make sure you iPhone 16 is updated to the latest version of iOS and make sure you turn on Apple Intelligence and if your in the EU then Apple Intelligence is not available for you right now
