Outlook mailbox no longer works in mojave 10.14

Microsoft, in their wisdom, has changed the security protocols for outlook mailboxes so that the Mojave version of mail can longer connect to outlook. To connect, "Microsoft Exchange" is required, which is different from "exchange" as provided in Mojave. Is there a work around for mail? I really don't want to have to go to the web browser to get my mail for this one mail box. Would be nice if they could all ply together, as in the past.

Most likely biggest factor is using Other in Mail setup, then using a Browser that doesn’t have Yahoo PW stored init to get the App PW.

What about application passwords? Will that keep working?

If application passwords are being used for MFA (Multi Factor Authentication) along with basic auth as another auth mechanism, then when basic authentication is disabled, app passwords used for MFA will stop working too.
